GMRC floating tenders for Phase-II metro project

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC)
Construction of the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro rail project Phase-II, which is being built by the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC), is set to start soon. The work for this phase is aimed at connecting Motera in Ahmedabad to Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar commanding a length of 28.2-km, and is expected to be completed by March 2024. Phase 2 of the rail project was approved by the Union Cabinet in February this year. In a recently held meeting, the Gujarat Chief Minister directed the state agencies to kick-start the project as quickly as possible. GMRC Managing Director, SS Rathod, said that tenders for extending the metro network from Motera to Mahatma Mandir are being floated on a fast track basis.
