GMR bags airport project in Goa

Adding to its project portfolio in the aviation sector, Bengaluru-based Infrastructure builder of international repute, GMR has won the final financial bid for construction of the green field airport at Mopa in North Goa, Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar said recently, claiming that all bidders were opened by a committee comprising senior government officials and GMR has won the financial bid and it has pledged 36.99% revenue sharing with the state government after the airport becomes operational. He said other bidders like Airport Authority of India and ESSEL Infra had quoted 32.31% and 27% as the revenue share from the project with the state government, which will be operational on Build, Own, Operate, Transfer (BOOT) basis. The airport is planned in the northern part of the state, adjoining Maharashtra and the PM is expected to lay the foundation stone for the project during second week of this month.
