Germany eyes Coimbatore smart city project

In order to cash in on the huge future business avenues in the Indian smart city projects, Germany has expressed its willingness to assist the Tamil Nadu government to build Coimbatore smart city project, Ambassador to India, Martin Ney said, elaborating that in this connection he recently met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to work out related modalities.

According to an official statement, Ney indicated that a delegation including high profile business leaders would be visiting Coimbatore very shortly for further detailed discussions with the Mayor and other officials of Coimbatore civic city. It may be recalled that Germany-based KfW is already engaged in various projects in the state and extending all sorts of assistance in building infrastructure in the state. The chief minister expressed her keenness to continue the partnership between the state and Germany-based companies in all future infrastructure projects as well.
