In order to ease traffic congestion and de-congest the Mohan Nagar intersection, Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has planned a major underpass at the site to ensure smooth movement of vehicular traffic. The intersection is a major bottleneck for daily commuters as it gets jam packed while going to Sahibabad, Vasundhara, and Ghaziabad. Sources said that the underpass is in the planning stage and will help ease traffic movement towards Hindon airbase and also on GT Road towards Ghaziabad. It will cater to traffic by decongesting the Mohan Nagar intersection in a major way as the 9.41 km metro route to Ghaziabad has also proposed a metro station nearby. The underpass will be for traffic coming from Vasundhara allowing seamless passage towards Ghaziabad and also towards the Hindon air base, said chief engineer, GDA, Sushil Dwivedi.
