The Ghaziabad Development Authority is all set to start the construction work on the ₹265 crore elevated road along GT Road easing commuting between the old city and NH-24. The work could either be awarded to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), which has designed the project report or can be undertaken by GDA itself, which is also preparing a detailed project report for elevated road stretch. The CPWD has submitted a detailed design for the project and that the task is being handed over to the agency on a turn-key basis. The technical specifications of the project has been finalized and that the construction cost will be met out of the infrastructure development fund of Ghaziabad, chief engineer VN Singh said, adding that the four-lane flyover with double carriageways will begin at the crossing in front of Jawahar Gate and terminate at Bhatia Mod.
