Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya Signs MoU with DRDO to Develop Smart Defence & Logistics Technologies

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) to jointly develop smart technological solutions for national security and indigenous defence systems. The agreement was formalized in the presence of Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Chairman of DRDO and Secretary of Defence R&D.

Dr. Kamat stated that the collaboration will help develop advanced technologies supporting the deployment of indigenous defence systems. The partnership will focus on Logistics Management, Operational Logistics at tactical, operational, and strategic levels, Chip Design and Hardware Security, and Blockchain-based Encryption Systems.

The MoU aims to build research and technical capacities among scientists and researchers, while promoting joint studies, R&D initiatives, and seminars and workshops in the defence and logistics domains. The agreement was signed by Prof. Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of GSV, and Dr. Lal Chand Mangal, DS & DG (TM), DRDO.

GSV already collaborates with the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force on logistics and supply chain education, and this partnership with DRDO will further strengthen its role in cutting-edge defence research.

Established in 2022 under the Ministry of Railways, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya is India’s first university dedicated to the transportation and logistics sector, covering railways, highways, aviation, ports, and urban transport. The university operates under the leadership of Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & IT, who serves as its Chancellor.
