The private equity and non-banking financial arms of Edelweiss Group have recently invested Rs. 150-cr in Bengaluru-based real estate startup, Krishna Enterprises Housing & Infrastructures. The player will use the funds to give exit to Chicago-based private equity firm, Walton Street Capital and its affiliates, which invested Rs. 85-cr in the realty firm in 2015. The deal, which was closed recently will be a structured transaction, which includes private placement of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) and construction finance, said an industry insider, adding that while the NBFC arm, ECL Finance, a subsidiary of Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd., has invested Rs. 101-cr for giving exit to Walton Street and meeting operational expenses, the private equity arm, Edelweiss Housing Finance, has invested Rs. 49-cr as construction finance, he added.
