EDC secures Rs.1,000 cr project in Goa

The Economic Development Corporation (EDC) in a recent development has been entrusted with a Rs.1,000 crore project for setting up a convention centre, ESG building and centre for excellence for Smart City on a 2.10 lakh square metres land parcel located at Dona Paula in Goa. The entire project is very important and can be compared with the Mopa airport project in terms of creation of entrepreneurial activities and job creation, EDC Chairman Sidharth Kuncalienkar said. Imagine Panaji Smart City MD and CEO Swayandipta Pal Chaudhari said that he has executed similar projects on PPP basis in smart cities, this experience in the field is being roped in for the project, too and that the player is appointing a transaction advisor to carry out the task on the fast-tracked basis. In this connection, the company is floating the request note proposal and it is in the final stages. The deadline for the convention centre and ESG building is September 2019. The centre for excellence for Smart City, convention centre and ESG building along with all the necessary screening rooms, test rooms, jury rooms, and a DFF office are the minimum deliverables in the project, he insisted.
