ECR targets ₹10,000-cr rail lines in Bihar

The East Central Railway (ECR) has targeted to complete different railway projects entailing an investment of over ₹10,000 crore in Bihar this year. These are being strictly monitored by a team of railway experts under the direct supervision of General Manager, ECR, L C Trivedi, said, adding that the railway is carrying out a new line project on the Koderma-Ranchi route (a distance of about 202-km) at a cost of ₹3,132 crore and also it is carrying out gauge conversion work worth ₹2,823 crore on different routes of the ECR. These apart, .railways is also building a new rail line project worth over ₹296 crore between Giridih and Koderma and 111-km long rail line route is also being laid and has completed a 25-km route between Konwar and Maheshmunda and the remaining distance will be completed this year. Besides, it is working on the track doubling project between Hajipur and Ramdayalu Nagar (a distance of 47.7km) at a cost of ₹367 crore. Among other projects, track doubling is also being done on the 30km long stretch between Samastipur and Darbhanga, out of which 10km between Samastipur and Kisanpur has been covered so far at an investment of about ₹491 crore.
