The Union Cabinet spearheaded by the Prime Minister has approved extension of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's corridor from Dilshad Garden to New Bus Stop in Ghaziabad, taking the total distance to 9.41 km. The Union Cabinet has approved contribution of ₹324.87 crore as central financial assistance for the project, which entails a total investment of ₹1,781.21 crore. The project is being implemented by DMRC through the existing Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of the Central Government and the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD).
