Delhi Kathmandu Rail Line
In its unfailing quest to build road and rail network across neighboring countries, Indian railways is all set to launch rail line directly connecting New Delhi, Kolkota, and Kathmandu, Railways Minister, Suresh Prabhu said recently, adding that India would be using direct railway lines connecting these cities. The Minister, who is currently visiting the country to address the Nepal Infrastructure Summit, will ink a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for engineering surveys. In this connection, India is ready to share its drone technology and experience with Nepal for monitoring the project and the Indian minister has held separate meetings with Nepal President, Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Ramesh Lekhak, Civil Aviation, Culture and Tourism Minister, Jiwan Bahadur Shahi, and Energy Minister, Janardan Sharma, to fast track this other major infra projects across two countries.
