Delhi Govt Ramps Up Yamuna Floodplain Restoration Efforts

The Delhi government and Delhi Development Authority (DDA) have stepped up efforts to clean and rejuvenate the Yamuna through 11 restoration projects covering 1,600 hectares along its floodplain.
So far, three projects—Asita East (Part A) over 93 hectares, Amrut Biodiversity (Parts A and B) over 108 hectares, and Qudsia Ghat/Vasudev Ghat under the Ghat Area Plan spanning 16 hectares—have been completed, totaling 217 hectares.
The remaining projects, covering 1,384.75 hectares, are under active execution. Officials are closely monitoring progress to ensure all works adhere to the timeline set by the landowning agency, DDA.
