Decks cleared for construction of Dwarka Expressway

The Delhi high court has allowed the road-building agency to continue with the construction of the Dwarka Expressway flyover in Dwarka's Sector 22-23. NHAI has also been granted the liberty to approach the court, should it face any difficulty. The flyover will serve as a vital link for those travelling between Gurgaon and Delhi and also those going to IGI airport. The construction came to a grinding halt in December last year after residents approached the high court, alleging the highways authority was illegally building the flyover on road number 226 in Sector 22-23 without obtaining any permission for the felling of trees and shrubs in the area. NHAI, however, subsequently filed its reply and submitted all the relevant documents in the court and allowed the apex court to go ahead with construction work.
