Decks cleared for big infra projects in Agra

Infrastructure Project
In the Taj Trapezium Zone, work is likely to begin on a slew of developmental projects that could change the geographical landscape of Agra with the SC clearing construction of a terminal building at the Kheria airport. Now this would change as a new terminal building with independent passage through civil area, Secretary of the Agra Development Foundation, KC Jain, said. It may be recalled that the SC had imposed restrictions on a moratorium on industrial expansion and construction of new projects in different categories, to ensure safe environment for historical buildings including the Taj Mahal. The state government said that decks have been cleared for major projects including a barrage on Yamuna, downstream of the Taj Mahal. The development has also paved the way for the development work for a 30 km-long two corridors of the Metro rail projects, which are slated to be commissioned by 2024.
