Punjab injects ₹1,708-cr in infrastructure sector

The Punjab government has injected ₹1,708 crore in various infrastructure projects across the state. The CM said that the funds allocation include a grant of ₹208.40 crore for development in rural and urban areas in the Malwa region, Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana, Patiala, SAS Nagar (Mohali) and Rupnagar districts under the umbrella program of Smart Village campaign and Urban Environment Improvement Plan. The state government has also allocated a sum of Rs 1,500 crore for improving rural and urban infrastructure for providing the best civic amenities to the public. The state is also keen to carry out overall development of Dera Baba Nanak area and the Kartarpur corridor, and sprucing up the holy town of Sultanpur Lodhi in view of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
