Crane Accident During Surat Metro Construction Damages Building
A hydraulic crane fell on a building in Surat's Nana Varachha area during Metro construction on Thursday, causing minor damage. The crane driver sustained minor injuries, but no civilians were hurt. The incident occurred while two cranes were launching girders. One crane's boom bent unexpectedly, damaging both cranes and the nearby building. Additionally, a few bikes were damaged. Traffic was briefly diverted following the accident. The Surat Metro project, managed by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (GMRC), is being developed at an estimated cost of ₹12,020 crore.
