According to the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (Credai), the demand for construction materials across the country is on the upswing. The growing demand the body pointed out is largely due to the growing need for building materials both in new and old constructions and also interest in interior and aesthetic home products is on the rise, said Credai, President, Coimbatore, Rajesh B Lund, adding that the demand for furniture and modular kitchen also increasing and there were modular kitchens priced up to Rs. 1 crore in the market. Given the growing aspirations in the building material and interiors areas, there is a scope to ensure participation from more categories. He said this at the inaugural session of the Construction, Architecture Interior three-day exhibition CAI Expo 2017 at Codissia Trade Fair Complex and inaugurated by Vanitha Mohan, President, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore; Ravichandran, Managing Director, Marwell Enncon Tech, and Raghuvir Srinivasan, Senior Associate Editor, Business Line also graced the occasion. The event has been organized to offer a platform to provide access to developers, building material and component makers, interior design professionals, architects and planners, and lighting consultants, among others. The event witnessed showcasing a collection of modern technologies, services and materials from different segments. More than 60 companies across varied fields and from different parts of the country are participating in the event.
