The proposal of building 2,000 km coastal roads in states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha has been placed on fast tracked lanes and would be awarded shortly, said official sources, adding that the projects include the construction of 445 km-long road connecting Dighi port, Dabhol, Guhaghar, Jaigad port, Deogad, Malwan, Venguria, and Arunda in Maharashtra in the west. In addition, another 430 km-long road connecting Konark, Astarand, Naugong, Paradeep port, Ratanpur, Dharma, Basudevpur, Chandaneshwar, and Digha in Odisha would also be constructed during the financial year.
