CMRL Allocates ₹154 Cr for Land Acquisition in Coimbatore Metro Project

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has earmarked ₹154 crore for land acquisition in the first phase of the Coimbatore Metro Rail Project. The funds will secure a 1.1 km stretch on Coimbatore-Sathyamangalam Road at Ganapathy.
CMRL also plans to set up its own office, with the civic body agreeing to provide the required space. The metro project will feature two corridors—a 20.4 km route from Ukkadam bus stand to Neelambur integrated station and a 14.4 km stretch from the city railway junction to Valiyampalayam Pirivu.
Once land acquisition is completed, National Highways authorities will widen a 3.1 km road from the Textool rail over-bridge. The project is set to enhance urban connectivity, providing faster and more efficient transport for commuters.
