Cidco sharpens plan for ₹711-cr rail-road projects
The 5.8-km long Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) coastal road plans for 1.2 km arm of the MTHL coastal road connecting motorists to the upcoming Navi Mumbai Intl' Airport, at an investment of ₹711 crore, has been tendered and the designing process initiated by interested companies, informed M D, Cidco, Lokesh Chandra. The nodal agency is leaving around 14 m in the middle of the two corridors for train connectivity along the 1.2 km airport corridor. The train connect is likely to be taken up by MIAL— a 74% stakeholder in the SPV, Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited. The stretch will also connect flyers and commuters from the upcoming Targhar railway station on the Nerul-Uran rail corridor by the proposed sky train or mono rail. The Targhar station will have a Metro station on pillars for the proposed fast tracked CST elevated Metro corridor and the sky train will act as a last-mile connectivity for flyers using the Metro or suburban trains.
