Chikkamagaluru Govt Allocates Rs 27.5 Cr for Road Development After Rain Damage

Continuous rainfall over the past two years has caused severe pothole formation and road damage, compounded by ongoing UGD and AMRUT project works. Responding to public complaints, the government has sanctioned funds under multiple schemes.
Under the State Finance Commission (SFC) scheme, Rs 10 crore has been released, with work orders already issued. Additionally, Rs 12.5 crore from special grants and Rs 5 crore from the Minority Department for road improvements in minority-dominated areas bring the total to Rs 27.5 crore for comprehensive road development across Chikkamagaluru.
The initiative aims to restore safe, durable, and all-weather roads, improving urban mobility and infrastructure resilience in the region.
