Chandigarh approves ₹388 cr flyover project

The Chandigarh administration has finally prepared and cleared the flyover project entailing an investment of ₹388 crore and sent the proposal to ministry for approval. Since Punjab governor and Chandigarh administrator V P Singh Badnore has power to release just ₹50 crore funds for any single work of the city, the entire funding of this particular project will be done by the Transport ministry. The latter will give all financial approvals related to the project, which will start at the roundabout of Sectors 29/30/Industrial area, Phases-I and II, the engineering department of the Chandigarh administration has described every work for which funds will be required as far as the project is concerned. Of the around 3.5 km length of flyover, around 2.4 km area will be completely elevated, and the rest will be on supporting slopes on the ground and it starts near the Sector 32-based GMCH rotary and will end near the Hallomajra light point.
