Centre sanctions ₹3,837 cr roads in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh Rural Works Department Minister has recently claimed that the Centre has sanctioned 5,025 km rural road network entailing an investment of ₹3,837 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). While exhorting concerned official to speed up the work, the PWD minister, Bamang Felix said that the failure to complete 1,600 km of rural roads in the state by this financial year would be the collective responsibility of everyone in the department. Rural road being one of the most vital communication means, the department needs to work with renewed energy to ensure that the roads reach the last village of the state. He stressed that PMGSY implementation has to be accelerated to accrue the benefit to the remotely located habitations for overall socio-economic development of the State.
