Centre targets ₹6 lakh-cr infra investment in TN

infra investment
The Union government has identified the implementations of about 575 projects involving an investment of over ₹6 lakh crore in Tamil Nadu by 2035. These projects cover port modernization, new port development, port connectivity enhancement, port-linked industrialization and coastal community development. A Multi-Modal Logistics Park will be launched soon at Mappedu near Sriperumbudur in Chennai. The 8-laning of Korampallam Bridge and Rail Over Bridge will also be taken up under the Sagarmala program. The Project will facilitate seamless and congestion-free transit to and from the Port and will further reduce the turnaround time of the cargo trucks. In fact, the core of development is ensuring dignity to every individual. To give wings to the dreams and aspirations of people, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna has been launched. He expressed happiness to inaugurate 4,144 tenements built in several areas and laid the foundation stones to integrated command and control centres in smart cities across Tamil Nadu. The cost of this project is ₹332 crore and these houses will be handed over to the needy and an Integrated Command and Control Centre will provide intelligent and integrated IT solutions to manage various services across cities in the state.
