Centre sanctions ₹12,000-cr infra projects in U'khand

The Centre has sanctioned ₹12,000-cr in Uttarakhand for infras projects in the current fiscal, said, finance secretary of the state, Amit Negi. He added that completion of the projects will place the state amongst the developed states of the country. The schemes are approved under external assistance plan in which the Centre provides 90% of the help and the state the rest 10%. The projects include roads, housing, drinking water, health facilities, educational institutions etc. The key schemes include ₹2,000 crore investment in drinking water, ₹1500 crore in sewage management and disposal, ₹1300 crore for parking facilities in 13 districts, ₹600 crore for rural industries, ₹1400 crore for power supply schemes, among many others. Negi informed that the state has proposals worth ₹6,500 crore still pending and is hoping to get approvals shortly.
