Road-Project
The Centre recently gave its nod to the Patna ring road project and its alignment besides deciding to bear the construction costs of Danapur-Bihta elevated road involving a combined investment of ₹1,500 crore. The proposed alignment of Patna ring road is Bihta-Naubatpur-Dumri-Daniyawan- Kachchi Dargah-Bidupur-Hajipur-Sonepur-Digha-Bihta. The 65 km long ring road was part of special package for Bihar promised by the PM in the last parliamentary elections. The ring road was proposed to be four or six-lane wide for which the state government had finalized the alignment in January this year and a consultant was roped in to prepare its detailed project report (DPR). While the DPR is likely to be finalized in a couple of months, it was decided recently to start the bidding process for the project, which will be executed by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
