Centre clears ₹47,773-cr for Nagpur infra projects

In a bid to upgrade the Nagpur city matching global standards, the centre government has recently approved ₹47,773 crore funds to be invested on various infrastructure projects across the city, said, official sources, elaborating that funds worth ₹6448 crore have been approved for flyovers and development of four-lane National Highway in the city and also ₹8680 crore for building metro rail network in the city. In addition, All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Nagpur has got ₹1577 crore, Deekshabhumi – ₹10 crore - Buddhist Circuit scheme – ₹100 crore - Development of accident-prone spots in city – ₹7.10 crore. Similarly, drinking water pipelines laying and construction of 42 overhead water tanks worth ₹228 crore and Pune-based Symbosis Institute to set up Skill Development University with investment of ₹300 crore. The road construction works ₹26,438 crore worth are likely to be taken up jointly by NHAI and transport ministry very shortly.
