Centre clears ₹315.73-cr for road infra in Jharkhand

The Union government has sanctioned ₹315.73 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) to Jharkhand for the construction of roads and bridges to provide connectivity to rural heart lands of the state. The funds will be used for construction of 37 bridges and 246 roads stretching to a total of 642.92 km. The roads will link 218 villages having a population of less than 250 people. All the projects will be completed during the current fiscal. The target for 2018-19 was 5,000 km to link 1,700 villages and till date the completed construction stands at 1,008.72 km connecting 519 villages in nine months and the target now is to complete the remaining 4,000 km (approx) in just three months.
