AAI invites bids for upgrading 6 intl' airports

The Airports Authority of India
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has invited bids to develop, manage and operate 6 airports at Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Ahmedabad and Jaipur. The airport projects will be awarded on the basis of “per-passenger fee". The bids will be finalized in February. According to the AAI, the move to manage the 6 airports on a PPP basis is part of its initiatives to provide world class infrastructure and services to stakeholders. The PPP model would be carried out through the Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) and that any issue that is beyond the scope of PPPAC would be dealt with by an empowered group of secretaries of the civil aviation ministry.
