Centre Approves Six-Lane Expansion of Hyderabad–Vijayawada NH65

The Central government has approved the widening of the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway (NH65) from four lanes to six, covering a 229 km stretch between the 40 km and 269 km marks. This major upgrade aims to enhance road safety, ease traffic congestion, and significantly improve travel efficiency.

Once completed, the project is expected to cut travel time between Hyderabad and Vijayawada by nearly two hours and reduce road accidents along the route. The upgraded highway will improve connectivity, boost trade, and support regional economic growth.
