Central Government Clears Site for Greenfield Airport in Parandur
The Central government has granted site clearance for a greenfield airport in Parandur, Kancheepuram district, Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) had applied to the civil aviation ministry for this development, located 70 km from Chennai. The state government plans to invest ₹32,000 crore in constructing the airport, which will cover 4,000 acres and have the capacity to handle 100 million passengers annually.
