Cabinet clears railway housing project in Chandigarh
The Union cabinet has given the green signal to a housing project of the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC) at a commercial site by the side of the Chandigarh railway station. The proposal for the upcoming housing project on 25-lakh sq.ft land includes construction of studio apartments, flats and service flats. Since the approval has included a residential project on the land, therefore, housing and commercial buildings would come up at the same site. The lease period of 28 years has also been extended to 99 years by the Ministry, which will attract more takers for the site, said an official.
