The Border Road Organization (BRO), which is involved in the construction of strategically important roads along the Indo–China border in the Upper Subansiri region, has recently launched the 200 feet DDR Bailey Bridge Project at Gelensiniak across the mighty Subansiri River, at the confluence of Subansiri, and Tsari Chu rivers. The bridge, which is located about 20 Kms ahead of Limeking, is the landmark achievement of the 128 RCC of Project Arunank under 23 BRTF. The project being built with single span bridge, is not only a demonstration of technical marvel, but also of human determination to go ahead with the task confront with multiple odds. Notwithstanding the challenges they encountered, BRO personnel are going ahead with the task with an unmatched grit and determination. The home bank abutment were built amidst the incessant rains, which will be followed by construction of the far bank abutment with the help of an aerial cable way upstream of the bridge site across the Subansiri. Commissioning of this bridge will facilitate further connectivity to remote villages and better defense preparedness apart from bringing faster development in remote areas.
