Bridge Over NH-48 Completed for Bullet Train Corridor

A 210-meter-long pre-stressed concrete (PSC) bridge

A 210-meter-long pre-stressed concrete (PSC) bridge over National Highway-48 at Dabhan village, near Nadiad in Gujarat's Kheda district, was completed on January 9, 2025. Located between the Anand and Ahmedabad Bullet Train stations, the bridge features 72 precast segments with a span configuration of 40m + 65m + 65m + 40m. Constructed using the Balanced Cantilever Method, it is designed for long spans.

As of January 11, 2025, the Bullet Train project has made significant progress:

  • 253 km of viaduct, 290 km of girder casting, and 358 km of pier work are completed.
  • Bridges over 13 rivers and five steel bridges are finished.
  • Noise barriers are installed across 112 km.
  • Track construction is underway at multiple locations in Gujarat.

In Maharashtra, work is progressing on a 21 km tunnel between BKC and Thane, and seven mountain tunnels are under construction in Palghar district. Meanwhile, a mountain tunnel in Valsad district, Gujarat, is complete.
