BMRCL Floats ₹50 Cr Tender for Skywalk at Banashankari Junction

BMRCL

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has floated a tender to construct a skywalk connecting the Banashankari Metro station with the TTMC building that houses a BMTC bus stand. Estimated to cost around ₹50 crore, the skywalk will feature circular loops linking the junction, bus terminal, and Metro station. The project also includes redesigning the junction with designated areas for tree plantations and traffic signal installations.

The Banashankari junction along Kanakapura Road is one of Bengaluru’s busiest, with the Metro station and TTMC building separated by the heavily trafficked Subramanyapura Road and a section of the Banashankari temple premises. A bustling vegetable and fruit market further complicates pedestrian movement between the bus stand and Metro station, highlighting the need for improved connectivity.
