Bharat Mobility: Hindustan Zinc Showcases Special High-Grade Zinc, EcoZen, Zinc Alloys
Hindustan Zinc Limited, India’s largest and the world’s second-largest integrated zinc producer, showcased its new and innovative zinc die-casting alloy product range, HZDA 3 and HZDA 5 (Hindustan Zinc Die Casting Alloy), at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The company also presented its extensive portfolio of high-quality zinc products for the automotive sector.

Hindustan Zinc unveiled one of the world’s most diverse zinc product portfolios, including lead, silver, and value-added products tailored for the automotive industry. "Zinc’s application in the automotive sector, particularly through galvanized steel, delivers significant fuel and emission savings by offering exceptional corrosion resistance to lightweight steel bodies (Body-In-White or BIW). This ensures the production of durable, long-lasting vehicles with extended anti-perforation warranties against corrosion. The company’s Zinc Die Casting Alloys, specially designed for the hot chamber die-casting process, are engineered to meet the evolving demands of the automotive industry,” said Arun Misra, CEO and Whole-time Director of Hindustan Zinc Limited.
Hindustan Zinc also highlighted its low-carbon "green" zinc product, branded as EcoZen, which has a 75% lower carbon footprint compared to conventionally produced zinc. Using EcoZen can avoid approximately 400 kg of carbon emissions when galvanizing one tonne of steel.

The company’s product range also includes lead, essential for automotive batteries, components, and radiation shielding, and silver, which enhances conductivity and efficiency in automotive electronics, such as switches and relays. As the automotive industry undergoes transformation through localization, electrification, and stricter emissions regulations, domestically produced zinc, lead, and silver offer sustainable, high-performance solutions for the future.
