Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project Receives Land Lease for Corridor-4

The Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project (BSRP) advanced significantly as South Western Railway leased 114.472 acres of land to Rail Infrastructure Development Company-Karnataka Limited (K-RIDE) for Corridor-4, known as the 'Kanaka Line'. Additionally, a lease agreement for revised Railway land for Corridor-2 (Mallige Line) was signed, reducing the area from 157.07 acres to 85.707 acres. This development is expected to expedite the project, which had been progressing slowly. Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Karnataka government and KfW Development Bank of Germany was signed on February 9 for funding the BSRP project, indicating further support for its advancement.
