Bengal clears Rs.1,779 cr road project

In order to improve transport facilities in the state, the West Bengal government has recently approved Rs.1,779 crore road project commanding a length of 21 km. The project is a multi-laned road starting from Mogra in Hooghly district to Kalyani in Nadia district, which also included a bridge over Hooghly for which the detailed project reports have already put in place. The road will be built from Mogra to Saptagram and also providing direct connectivity to Hooghly, where it will join the bridge. The other end of the project will be connected to the road from Kalyani to Barjaguli with four-laned project will be six-laned cable-stayed bridge with a width of 700 metres, said an official spokesperson, adding that the bridge with attractive design is being designed by a company from Denmark.
