BDA plans multiple tunnels in city

The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has decided to construct series of tunnel roads across the city at a cost of Rs.500 crore/km and they included a bi-directional tunnel from Palace grounds to Kempegowda International Airport and also one emergency lane. In addition, the state is also considering building a tunnel from Gorgunte Palya-Outer Ring Road to decongest the city‘s traffic and another connecting north, south, east and western parts of the city, Mayor Padmavathi G said in a media statement recently, adding that the proposed roads and tunnels are being proposed under the PPP model, he claimed.
