BBMP pushes Rs. 7,300-cr infra projects

The state government in Karnataka in a recent move has decided to complete all the pending projects falling in the jurisdiction of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) municipal limit, entailing an investment of Rs 7300 crore.

On this score, the chief minister directed BBMP officials to resume eviction of encroached land in the city limits facilitating the launching of the projects. Under Nagorthana project, there is a financial aid to take up project, as out of the total cost Rs 3208 crore has been allotted for the financial year 2016-17 and Rs 4092 crore for the year 2017-18. The BBMP has taken up white topping of several major roads, including outer ring road, Mysore Road, Bannerghatta Road, Hosur Road, Magadi Road and Old Madras road and all these works will be completed before the end of the current fiscal itself.
