The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has secured funds worth ₹2,500 crore for the construction of multiple infrastructure projects across its jurisdiction. In this connection, the civic body has been directed to take up a DPR of the major civic infrastructure projects such as road developments, white topping and storm water drain (SWD) development, targeted to build in the next couple of years. According to the action plan prepared by BBMP, ₹2,331 crore will be allocated for road development; ₹1,400 crore for SWD; and ₹1,300 crore for white topping of 92 major roads, over the next three years. The Karnataka government has issued an order for all the projects and BBMP will soon float tenders which will be completed in three months, and thereafter it will start work on the projects.
