Barabanki to Bahraich to Become Uttar Pradesh's 1st Digital Highway

Uttar Pradesh is set to introduce its first digital highway with the construction of a 101-km, four-lane road between Barabanki and Bahraich. The highway will feature advanced technologies aimed at ensuring safer journeys, faster deliveries, and an improved travel experience. Optical fiber cables will be installed along the road, eliminating future excavation needs. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has already initiated surveys, with construction slated to begin by March 2025.
The highway will be equipped with 24/7 network connectivity, National Permit Register (NPR) cameras, and efficient lighting systems to enhance safety. The digital infrastructure will enable higher vehicle speeds and improve overall travel quality, with ample nighttime lighting ensuring secure driving conditions.
