Bangalore gets Rs.2,266 cr infra projects

Four major infra and construction projects have been cleared for the Bangalore city under the Smart City mission minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada B. Ramanath Rai has laid the foundation stone for these projects. The projects involved a whopping investment of Rs.2,266.65 crore falling under the jurisdiction of Mangaluru City Corporation. The targeted projects among others include the construction of bus terminal at Pumpwell at a cost of Rs.400 crore, multilevel car parking facility at Hampankatta at Rs.98 crore, reconstructing central market building at Hampankatta at an investment of Rs.50 crore and setting up a command-control centre in the corporation building at Lalabgh costing Rs.49 crore. The command-control centre would have CCTV camera surveillance and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system to monitor water supply, water leakage, movement of vehicles and transporting waste in various parts of the city. Similarly, foundation stone for a modern market- cum- commercial complex at Kadri costing Rs.16 crore and also at Kankanady at an investment of Rs.42.50 crore, among score of other projects, have also been laid recently, he added.
