Ashoka Buildcon bets big on HAM, EPC models

Ashoka Buildcon
As the Union government planning to bid out 25,000-km road projects this year, Ashoka Buildcon has set its eye on both, hybrid annuity and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) model and targeted Rs.5,000 crore projects to boost its business in the current fiscal. With as many as 32 projects in its kitty, the Nashik-based company is among the league of small companies that are making its headway in the highway sector, which has seen a high number of toll-based build-operate-transfer projects in the past. Of the total public-private projects with the company, 16 are operational, nine have been completed and handed over to the tendering authority and seven are under construction, said managing director, Ashoka Buildcon, Satish Parakh, adding that it feels it has good opportunity going ahead and will be bidding for National Highways Authority of India‘s hybrid annuity and EPC mode projects in a big way. However, the company will be as selective in bidding, as in the past, and will focus on viable projects for bidding without compromising on bottom line.
