Ashok Leyland plans Rs. 500-cr facility

In a recent development, Ashok Leyland Limited, which is country's renowned commercial vehicle manufacturing major, has entered into an agreement with Telangana Government to set-up a body building unit entailing an investment of Rs. 500cr, said official sources, claiming that the facility in question will be established in a phased manner. In this connection, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked and exchanged between Additional Principal Secretary, Santhi Kumari and Managing Director of Ashok Leyland, Vinod K Dasari, in the presence of Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao. Commenting on the development, the Chief Minister said that the State Government would extend all necessary support to see that the project comes up according to the plans extending various facilities as per the newest and innovative State Industrial policy.
