AP unveils Rs. 2,000cr road projects

In a major boost to rural roads in the state, Panchayats in Andhra Pradesh, have launched road projects worth 4,500-km entailing a staggering investment worth Rs. 2,000cr, Panchayati Raj Minister, Ayyanna Patrudu, said recently, reiterating that in the wake of the forthcoming Pushkarams, 244 panchayat roads work had been taken up at a cost of Rs. 144-cr in Krishna and Guntur districts of which 133 roads were in Krishna, 74 in Guntur and 36 in Kurnool and the plan has been drawn to complete them by July 20. Panchayat bodies must utilise the allocated funds for the construction of targeted works to usher in an era of economic prosperity in the 13,000 panchayat bodies across the State.
