AP pushes Rs. 3,600-cr infra projects

Placing the multiple infra projects of the capital city on fast track, Amravati Matro Rail Corporation has recently floated tenders for project entailing an investment of Rs. 1,800 crore. In addition, individual tenders were also called for Eluru Road corridor costing Rs. 969 crores and Bandar corridor entailing an investment of Rs. 831 cores. The metro-rail works would be carried out on two routes covering a length of 26 km. The first passes through Pandit Nehru Bus station and Nidamanuru and the other connecting Pandit Nehru Bus station and Penamaluru. It may be recalled that the metro work has been delayed for quite a long period due to lack of funds and finally the mega project got the green signal, said an industry insider, adding that the state government has already released Rs. 300 core to Amaravati Metro Rail corporation for land acquisition purposes.
