In order to provide hassle-free transport facilities to the rural folk in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, the state government has decided to build road network worth Rs. 412.04-cr in the rural belt of the region in the current fiscal. The roads, which have already been constructed under the supervision of Panchayati Raj department, included 250 km long CC roads in villages with an estimated cost of Rs. 67.05cr. Out of them, 220 km long roads have been completed and that in the same period, 165.19 km long BT roads have been proposed with Rs. 50.35-cr and to date in the current financial year, 422 km long CC roads are being built entailing an investment worth Rs 170cr.
