AP announces Rs. 2,232-cr road upgrade

As part of State government's focus on improving road network in the region, the state government has decided to upgrade 1,841 km roads in the area at an investment of Rs. 2,232-cr covering Medak, Sangareddy, and Siddipet districts. The three districts together have 2,500 km road network under the jurisdiction of R&B department, Superintendent Engineer K. Radhakrishna said, adding that the department has sanctioned 394 works that covers 1,841 km of roads, including widening, renewal and constructing new roads and 71 bridges with road length of 122 km at a cost of Rs. 928cr. Also, 16 bridges were completed at a cost of Rs. 73cr. Under renewal of roads, 21 works covering 799 km were completed at a cost of Rs. 388-cr and 28 stretches of roads have been widened covering 422 km spending Rs. 497cr.
