Andhra unveils Rs.195-cr road widening project

In a bid to widen beach road from Vizag to Bheemili into 6 lanes in Andhra Pradesh, the concerned department of the local administration has recently submitted the plan to the government. Currently, this stretch of the road is being expanded into four lanes but with the latest decision, it would be widened upto six lanes at an increased investment of Rs. 195cr, said principal secretary of roads & buildings and transport department, Sumita Dawra. In this connection, the department has sent the feasibility report for approval. The Anakapalli-Anandapuram bypass highway project has been awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Deputy Transport Commissioner of the district, Venkateswa Rao said, elaborating that the department has been adhering to stringent safety norms and has also planned to set up more trauma care centres along the national highways across the state.
